Energy certification for buildings
A building’s energy certification allows us to understand how a building was designed from a thermal insulation standpoint, and how its insulation properties can contribute to energy savings.
An analysis of the components which comprise a building’s exterior and its air conditioning systems, carried out by a qualified expert with the aim of determining an energy performance index, summarizes the building’s energy consumption for its air conditioning installation and specifies applicable areas for improvement.
Based on this index, a building is assigned an energy class which represents the property’s building quality.
The reference value for attributing an energy class is the estimated thermal consumption, expressed in KWh/m² yearly: below 30 KWh/m² per year, a building is classified class A.

Infrared Thermography Tests
The use of infrared thermography considerably cuts down on time and expenses in searching for damages due to a variety of problems related to the degradation of buildings, such as: lack of insulation, humidity problems, infiltrations and air leaks, identifying thermal bridges and structural flaws.
Infrared thermography can pinpoint the causes of defects attributable to faulty construction or abnormalities which have developed over time due to shoddy workmanship or a poor oversight of construction works.

Thermography is thus especially important in the case of buildings with a low evaluation in terms of energy efficiency, allowing improvement actions to be concentrated on the specific problem areas identified.

Uses for thermography

  • Identifying leaks in the heating system, using a thermo-camera for accurate readings, avoiding destructive probes and other damage;
  • Identifying critical areas with poor insulation in the case of renovations carried out on existing buildings, intervening only where necessary;
  • Inspecting new fixtures and checking to ensure they correspond to declared requirements;
  • Detecting the cause and origin of infiltrations in underground structures and footings;
  • Verifying whether plumbing systems have been suitably installed.
